Biography: 

A native of the Tampa Bay area, Dennis Alfonso began his practice as a Supreme Court Certified Legal Intern for the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office in 1989. After admission to the Florida Bar in 1990, he practiced in Tampa in the areas of criminal law, general civil litigation, and family.

In 1995 he merged his practice with the Dade City law firm of McClain & McClain. He began assisting in the representation of the office of the Pasco County Clerk of Circuit Court and the District School Board of Pasco School Board, whom he serves as General Counsel.  In 2011, Dennis began his representation of the Hernando County School Board as General Counsel.  While he continues to practice in the areas of general civil litigation and family law, Dennis is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as expert in the area of Education Law. Dennis was appointed to membership on the Florida Board of Bar Examiners by the Florida Supreme Court in 2018 and his term will extend to October 31, 2023.

Through his practice, Dennis has represented clients in civil litigation in State trial, administrative, and appellate Courts and in Federal trial and appellate Courts. Dennis has been active in the community, playing music, practicing law, and serving on the Dade City Redevelopment Advisory Committee, Dade City Downtown Main Street, Ybor City Rotary Club, Zephyrhills Daybreak Rotary Clubs, Habitat for Humanity for East and Central Pasco County, Leadership Pasco (Class 2014), Chancellor for St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, and as a Little League and Youth Soccer Coach.
